Our team of 4 women, 1 couple and their 2 children was blessed with unity and oneness of purpose. The children were a valued part of this unlikely group of prayer warriors, or ‘undercover agents’ as we were referred too. Only God would choose to use a small group of mostly women & children to do battle for Him.

As we met each day for worship and listened for God’s strategies our plans completely changed. We were scheduled to return to Rome after 3 days in Florence, but we felt that this would be a distraction and a waste of time and resources. Turin was clearly the main focus of our mission and we ended up spending 10 days in this region of Italy. OM Italy’s base and Forterocca were integral parts of our mission also.

By the final week we understood the connection between Turin and Forterocca. Turin was about breaking the enemy’s hold over the city, by declaring Jesus Lord of the city and of Italy. Forterocca and the Pellice Valley were to be released to enter into the fullness of the Lord’s blessing. Out of this valley will come life, blessing and power that would replace the darkness.

We went to four main areas of darkness in the centre of Turin to dance and pray;

We also travelled to a valley that lies beneath the lay line between Turin and London and played/sang a song declaring that Jesus reigns and that the powers of darkness must flee.

We trust that the hold of the enemy in these key places has been at least shaken if not broken. We prayed that people held captive by witchcraft/occult practices would be set free to enter the kingdom of light.

Concern was expressed that Forterocca has been seen as a millstone to OM Italy. We stood against that as a lie of the enemy. Forterocca is to be a cornerstone for God’s work through OM. As the Waldesians dedicated their lives to teaching and sending out people to teach the good news of the Gospel, so too Forterocca will carry on this commission and become a centre for training/discipleship and sending out. It is also to be a lighthouse to the communities surrounding it. We prayed and worshipped the Lord at Forterocca. On our last day together we marched around the OM property 7 times as a declaration that it belongs to The Lord and that all that would stand against its growth and ministry would be defeated. Joshua 6 was our strategic text for this.

Many times we questioned the effectiveness of what we had done. We had anticipated more physical manifestation of the spiritual battle that we were involved in. Often after significant prayer times rain would fall or the sun would come out over the areas interceded for. We saw this as a sign of God’s healing and blessing over the land. Our prayers, dances and warfare often seemed foolish and so simple. We chose to believe that what is foolishness to man is wisdom to God. His ways are not our ways. The battle is the Lord’s and we are called to act in faith and obedience. Many of the victorious battles of the Israelites were won through the most unlikely of tactics. We believe that the testimony, of the fruit of our obedience to what the Lord asked of us, will reveal itself in the weeks and months to come. We are believing for chains/strongholds to be broken and captives to be set free. We believe that The Lord will build Forterocca into a strong fruitful centre for training, equipping and nurturing. We base our hopes on the many scriptures that were repeatedly given to us both before and during our mission trip. These were confirmed with songs, pictures and words. God does not lie or deceive, so we hold onto His truths and promises for the Italian people and the work of OM Italy.
